The Gorfenpitze via ferrata route is an easy, short via ferrata route that proceeds beneath the impressive Gorfenspitze via ledges and a platform up to the summit. The ascent from the wind gap beneath the Gorfenspitze up to the via ferrata is very steep and proceeds through easy climbing terrain. The new route, which is secured with ropes, was re-laid in summer 2019 and makes it possible to enjoy a hassle-free, secure ascent to the summit. The cable areas on the old climb to the summit via an exposed, short ridge which had loose boulders, have been removed.

Access
Proceed through Paznaun to Galtür. Before the Jambach, turn off for Jamtal. After 100 metres, there is a car park for hikers on the left hand side of the road. The parking machines do not operate in the summer months.
Entrance
From the car park follow the Gampele road to the bridge. Bear right here across the bridge. Then take a left (square), follow the 'Panoramaweg' signposts. 100 metres after the wooden bridge (over the Jambach) follow the signposted path to 'Gorfenspitze'. The signposted path proceeds initially through a forest, then heads steeply up to a viewing bench (1980m). From there, follow the path (experts only) until you reach a ridge beneath the Gorfenspitze. From here it is a very steep, in parts easy climbing section (difficulty level 1) up to the entrance of the via ferrata.
Exit
From the summit of the Gorfenspitze (2558 m) on the same route back to the starting point.
