Three tips for hiking with children

“When will we get there!?” – Hiking with children is sometimes a challenge for parents. Here are three tips to follow so that the family hike is guaranteed to succeed:

  1. Route choice: The right route choice is crucial. Are you hiking with your children for the first time? You may prefer to choose an easier trail. If the hike becomes too strenuous, children may develop a dislike for future hikes. Not sure which tours are suitable for kids? Check out the route plan and learn about the hiking routes in See.
  2. No stress: As a general rule, always plan for hikes with children to take twice as long. After all, there’s so much to discover in and around the Tyrolean Paznaun! Build little men out of stones, collect pine cones and watch ants and beetles as they explore the forest floor.
  3. Let the children be the guides: Give your children a bit of responsibility and let them lead the way! Pick up a hiking map at the tourist office and let the kids follow the trail. It’s especially fun to teach your children to use a compass!
