“High-Bike Test Centre Paznaun” opens the 5th season with lots of attractions and new motorbike models
Still the only all-brand motorbike test centre in the Alpine area – “High-Bike in the Paznaun region” in Ischgl/Tirol kicks off its fifth season on 1st June 2015. On offer this year are around 50 motorbikes from Europe’s leading manufacturers, BMW, Ducati, KTM and Triumph; participating partners provide all of the new models you could wish for from the autumn/winter 2015 selection and these are available for day-long test rides.
The range of test motorbikes is now more extensive
Also in the fifth season, BMW will once again present the biggest test bike quota. On offer, as well as the long runner, the R 1200 GS and the GS associated model „Adventure“, there are of course new models – the R 1200 R Roadster, the sports tourer R 1200 RS and the re-designed F 800 R Roadster. Due to its late presentation, the new Sports-Adventure-Bike S 1000 XR will only feature among the vehicle fleet a few weeks after the start of the test season. Of course last year’s much in demand models, the R nineT and S 1000 R Roadster, are ready for day tests.
Ducati shines in particular with the new Multistrada; the previous model was amongst the most sought-after test bikes in the last few years. It is anticipated that the new scrambler is set to be in demand. Still fresh on the market is the Monster 821. It is clear that the Monster 1200 will be ready for testing in Ischgl.
KTM present a wide range of models for test vehicles. The range on offer extends from the still fresh Duke 390 (A2 driving licence) to the new 1050 Adventure last year’s much sought-after 1190 Adventure to the SuperDuke 1290R.
Even more extensive is the range on offer from Triumph; Thruxton and Bonneville are the classics, the two new Tiger 800 versions XRx and XCx, as well as the Tiger Explorer and Tiger Sport 1050 are in the ‘adventure’ section, then there is the still fresh luxury tourer, the Trophy SE as well as other models, through to the Rocket Roadster.
Highbike test centre in the Paznaun region – a concept for success
The test centre is open every day from 1st June to 30th September 2015, from 8.00 a.m. to 10.30 a.m. for vehicle issue and between 4.30 p.m. and 7.00 p.m. for their return. Hire fees for one-day test rides – no exceptions - for category 1 vehicles are once again this year just 70 Euros (without a Paznaun guest card it is 100 Euro). For category 2 vehicles the cost is 90 Euros (without a Paznaun guest card it is 120 Euros). Included in this cost towards expenses is fully comprehensive insurance with 500 Euros excess (deposit required); at the end of the ride the tester is to refill the vehicle with petrol used during the day. Multi-day tours are not in the offer, to give every guest the opportunity to ride their dream bike, which is in keeping with our ethos; individual models may also only be hired for one day.
All vehicles have been manufactured in 2015 and will be issued in perfect condition; maintenance work will be carried out in accordance with manufacturer’s specifications or directly by the manufacturer. All motorbikes and the BMW scooter are fitted with Metzeler and Pirelli tyres and Motorex products are used for vehicle care. Motorex motor oils are also used. The Highbike test centre also provides motorcycle safety equipment on request for a small hire fee; high quality Goretex textile suits by Rukka for men and women, the latest integral helmets by Schuberth and functional Goretex boots from Daytona are available. Rukka gloves are also available as are bags, luggage systems and tank rucksacks from GIVI.
As the testing stomping ground there are some 30 Alpine passes in Tirol, Switzerland, in South Tirol and in Bavaria; which are all accessible as part of day tours. Detailed route maps ensure that you won’t lose your bearings during longer tours, while numerous vehicles have navigation units from tomtom and BMW.
