The route in detail

From Furglerblick all the way down to the valley

The Fear of Heights slope starts at the Furglerblick mountain station in Tyrol at around 2,570 metres. From up there, the name feels particularly fitting: The views stretch towards the Furgler and deep into the Silvretta mountains. The first sections are wide and open, giving you plenty of space to find your rhythm before the descent really gets going.

Further down, the route becomes more varied. The slope continues via the Rossmoosabfahrt, alternating between open slopes and narrower sections, while woodland passages give it a character of its own. This is where rhythm, technique and a good feel for the best line come into play.

Near the bottom, the Brückenschuss provides the slope’s best-known challenge. This steep section calls for full concentration before the final, more relaxed stretch leads down to the Medrigjochbahn valley station.

After 13 kilometres and 1,530 metres of descent, you reach the valley with the satisfying feeling of having completed one of the standout descents in the Paznaun valley.
