The event at a glance
The story of the nightclub singer "Deloris van Cartier" sounds like a nightmare – after a performance, she accidentally witnesses a murder and has to disappear into the witness protection program. Instead of standing on glamorous stages, she ends up in a conservative convent, where she disguises herself as a nun. The strict Mother Superior is not pleased at all, and the other nuns are skeptical as well. But Deloris is not easily discouraged. She takes over the leadership of the church choir and brings fresh wind into the community with her experience and singing talent. Every service becomes an event, and the masses attract more and more visitors. Deloris' popularity rises, and she is even invited to perform before the Pope.
However, her disguise is blown when the gangsters who want to get their hands on Deloris track her down. The nuns unexpectedly find themselves in great danger.
A gripping story based on the TV movie of the same name about friendship, music, and the strength to stand up against all odds.
