Early winter can persistently establish itself in our area. With a strong west to northwesterly current further troughs will hit our area and result in changeable conditions throughout the upcoming days. Accompanied by brisk northwesterly winds, barrier effects of snow showers are expected at the north side of the Alps on Monday. Toward the south, showers will be less frequent. On Tuesday, the prevailing northwesterly current will stormily increase and steer a warm front toward our area at Tuesday night. The snow line will gradually rise above 1500m above sea level. Foehny-friendly conditions with long sunny intervals and temporarily increasing temperatures are expected on Wednesday. However, wintry cold air in combination with scattered snow showers above 1000m will set in already at the beginning of next week.
