People who want to get some fresh air and exercise in winter don’t necessarily have to hit the slopes. Bavarian curling and ice skating are great ways to get some exercise outdoors. Practise your pirouettes on the outdoor rink and test your Bavarian curling skills with a team – you’ll have plenty of fun on the ice in See.
One thing is certain: ice skating is just as much a part of winter as skiing and snowboarding. Ice skating sharpens your sense of balance, gets your blood circulating and also helps you improve your body control. What a perfect combination of fitness and fun for the entire family during your winter holiday. So how about it? Lace up your skates and head to the rink in the centre of See.
Protect your head: kids and beginners should always wear a helmet when ice skating.
Did you know? Bavarian curling has a long history in Tyrol and is also the absolute favourite activity of many locals. Each winter, curlers of all ages hit the ice at many lakes and ponds, trying to hit a target (called the daube) using equipment called ice stocks. Land your ice stock closest to the daube and you’re the winner. Give it a try!
You will find two 24-metre-long, 2-3 metre-wide Bavarian curling surfaces in See. Challenge your family to a fun and exciting game!
Good to know: The ice caretaker surveys the ice every day, making sure you will have safe fun on the ice in See.
The ice skating rink is open from Wednesday to Sunday from 1.00 - 6.00 pm (in case of good weather) Monday and Tuesday closed.
