Traditional Tyrolean dishes
Do you love trying new foods? Does your mouth water just thinking about Tyrolean cuisine? Be sure to try these traditional specialities on your holiday in See:
- Tiroler Speckknödel: These traditional bacon-filled dumplings are served in hot soup.
- Tiroler Marend, also known as Brettljause: This is the typical afternoon snack prepared in Tyrol. No Marend is complete without cheese, bacon, pork lard, horseradish and hearty farmhouse bread.
- Kiachla: These sweet yeast dough cakes are deep fried in oil until golden brown. Try the savoury version served with sauerkraut or the sweet version with powdered sugar and cranberry jam.
- Moosbeernocken: Another sweet treat. These dumplings are made with blueberry dough and cooked in a pan until golden brown. Last but not least, they are dusted with powdered sugar.
